Work in Taiwan
- Employment Gold Card
Taiwan Employment Gold Card
A "4-in-1" document combining an open work permit, residence visa, ARC, and re-entry permit — applied for by the professional directly, with no employer required.
Holders may work freely and change employers at any time.
Eligible applicants are Foreign Specialist Professionals in one of 12 designated fields (including science & technology, finance, culture & arts, education, law, and biotechnology), subject to salary or achievement thresholds.

Foreign Professional Work Visa
Under this pathway, your employer applies for a work permit on your behalf, after which you may apply for an employment-based visa or Alien Resident Certificate (ARC).
Foreign Professionals: Candidates must meet specified educational background and salary criteria (starting at NT$47,971 per month). Work permits are valid for up to three years and may be renewed continuously, subject to meeting ongoing employment requirements.
Foreign Specialist Professionals: Qualified individuals in designated key industries are eligible for employer-sponsored work permits valid for up to five years, with continuous renewals available upon application.
Additionally, artists and performers may apply for the Freelance Artist Work Permit to legally create, perform, and teach in Taiwan without a sponsoring employer. Other work categories — including supervisory roles at foreign-invested businesses, language teachers, sports coaches, and contract personnel — are covered under the White-Collar Worker Visa. Global University GraduatesForeign nationals who obtained a bachelor's degree or higher within the past five years from an institution on the Ministry of Education's recognized Top 200 university list may apply directly to the Ministry of Labor. This permit is valid for up to two years and is non-renewable.
